First Day at IslandWood

Today we made purple mashed potatoes and French fries at Islandwood. We dug up our own potatoes and baked them in a solar panel oven. We got to go on the ferry to get to Islandwood on Bainbridge island. We saw a cool bag made of chocolate milk rappers and we got to see giant sun flowers. We even got to see the difference in between the smallest and biggest potatoes .

Look at my camp counselor Adena.

Wow, look at that! That's a tiny potato.

A bag made out of chocolate milk wrappers?

Cool! How many french fries did you get out of that tiny potato?

I think we should buy a 10 pound back of those tiny potatoes and see who can peel the most. :)

PURPLE POTATOES???? Yikes. You didn't EAT any of those, did you? Your hair might turn purple or something, right? :-)
I like giant sunflowers. It's quite amazing that a flower can grow so big. And, the birds LOVE the seeds from those flowers. A really great thing for a garden.

We got one french fry out of that tiny potato. It would take a long time to peel something that small!
Luckily, my hair did not turn purple, but I do have a lot of red spots (mosquito bites!).

Thanks for leaving your comments- stay tuned for another exciting post this evening.
