Before and 98% after

Before: sink, broken garage, terrible paint

After: double bowl sink clears counterspace, fab counter,
cabinets that do what they're supposed to do
Glass tile backsplash to come next week

Before: Stove. Dead space left of the dishwasher, drawers too small for utensils

After: Perfect cabinet for cutting boards and baking sheets,
drawers big enough for things. Two more handles still to come

Good Rain

I can't believe how much bigger things have gotten in the ppatch over the last few weeks. Barbara's peonies, roses and irises are getting really big and the buds look about to burst. Her plan is to take out a few of each in the fall, which will give me more room for veggies, but I'm starting to grow attached to them!

We had major rain and wind last week. I headed over to make sure the trellises hadn't blown over into Magnolia, but nope, they were intact. Baby beans coming up.

Chives

IslandWood broccoli (and maybe kale?) went in last night. It's looking a little wobbly but I hope it perks up over the next few weeks. Harvey found that stepping stone for me, very pretty.

Here is a plot that is not mine, but I like the very organized, raised bed. As a new gardener I think it would help keep track of things more easily.

This little guy was all over the place. No wonder some seeds don't seem to be sprouting.
